Olay Ingredient Gallery
In the Summer of 2016, I was the first-ever Digital Design Intern for Olay's Research & Development Team.
The goal of this assignment was to display the story of the ingredients in Olay's products.
I was the lead designer on this project. I directed and lead the production of several photoshoots of 30 Olay ingredients. I edited them into a design where the researchers and copyrighters would be able to fill in the copy once I had left the internship. I also made separate versions without text.
I was working with the Olay Products Research teams.
This project lasted throughout my summer at Olay.
The Ingredient Gallery was recently used on a media visit of both US media, and China media for the launch of an Olay initiative. The sales group is also adding the Ingredient Gallery to their tour of the US – where they will go to all of the major customers (Walmart, Walgreens, Target, CVS etc. etc.) to showcase Olay research.
I directed and lead the photoshoots for 30 ingredients. I chose this style of photography and art direction because it feels high-end, yet scientific, thus fitting the Olay brand. I was given a budget for the shoot. Prior to purchasing materials, I met with scientists at P&G to learn about what each ingredient does and what it was made of. From this experience, I learned how to photograph in a professional photography studio.
